Thank you for visiting my website. I am Christy van de Ven and live in the South of Limburg in The Netherland together with my dogs.
I walked for several years with the neighbor's dog, Simba, also an amstaff where the fascination for this breed also started for me, The look of the amstaff fascinated me for their beautiful powerful head and muscular body, but still a very gentle character towards man, and endless walking without getting tired. I received endless love from Simba, and soon knew that I also wanted an amstaff later on.
In 2002 I went to live together, and it soon became clear that he also had an Amstaff, called Layka. For me so much fun to meet Layka. We walked a lot with her.
Unfortunately Layka has now found her peace in a place far away ... r.i.p girl.
In 2003 we went to see the International Dog Show in Maastricht, where we continued to stick to the amstaff ring. We quickly felt that we had to make a new start with a puppy, but were didn't decide anything yet. When the champion Chasqui King Gizmo entered the ring, we fell in love!
What a beautiful animal ... we immediately asked for information about future descendants of him. After which I immediately contacted the owner of the female dog, Countess Bleu jeweel van de Hanehoeve.
After a long wait it was then that far, 7 pups were born including 3 males. When the pups were 3 weeks old we drove to Friesland to find out our puppy ... it became our King, Ozzy.
We took Ozzy as a house dog ... but that changed
We participated in the Belgian youngdog day with Ozzy in the Baby Class. He was 12 weeks old and immediately gained 2nd place with a "promising" out of 7 males. That was a very nice experience, especially to watch your favorite breed all day long. So here and there we went to show some shows and it soon became apparent that Ozzy had the 'looks' to kick it further.
For us it became an addictive hobby and so we rolled into the world of the show.
Since we have started thinking about the future and we have a this hobby together, we occasionally breed a litter.
Our aim is to breed as good as possible amstaffs according to the breed standard, which have good health and especially good characters. We will breed with parents tested on Hips (HD), elbows (ED), Hart (OFA Cardiac) and Ataxia. Parents will also have a reduced socially acceptable behavior test (M.A.G) if they live in the Netherlands and we breed according to the rules of the American Staffordshire Terrier Club Holland.
We also visit the USA, for shows as well as selecting, and covering any studs in the future, to ensure an even better future for our breeding program.
I also have an MBO-4 diploma in animal care, with an extension to kennel area.
After 8 years of being together, Bjorn and I have divorced, and I continue with the kennel.
I work a lot with people who are co-owners of my dogs, and so I will continue to work together in the future. These dogs do not live with me but are owned by me, and share in the future of the kennel. In this way, every dog gets the necessary attention that he deserves.
If you want to see a certain dog, please let me know.
My dogs live in a homely atmosphere and walk freely around the house. They are part of the family. They get the necessary movement in forest, heath, field and water.
If you want to get to know me and my dogs, I would like to invite you. I am often found at many dog shows in The Netherlands and abroad
Furthermore, I wish you a lot of fun reading and viewing my website!
Met vriendelijke groet,
